The Star, Sydney

The Star, Sydney is located in Pyrmont, Sydney and is the second largest casino in Australia after Melbourne's Crown Casino. It was opened on September 13, 1995 and is owned by Star Entertainment Group. The hotel has 351 hotel rooms and 130 serviced apartments. It also has a 2,000-seat Sydney Lyric Theatre and a 3,000-seat event center. The Star Casino has two gaming floors: the main gaming floor on the first level and the Sovereign Room on the third level. In the Sovereign Room, table stakes range from $25,000 to $75,000, and in the Inner Sanctum, stakes range from $100,000 to $500,000. These areas are only available to high rollers and international guests after membership application and review by Star management.

The property also features a sports bar and The Marquee nightclub. The casino underwent a A$961 million renovation between 2009 and 2011. The renovation created a new nightclub, modernized gaming areas and added new amenities. The Star Sydney also features restaurants, bars and other entertainment venues. These include Star's Harvest buffet, Lagoon and Glo bars, and 36 Degrees Bar and Oasis Lounge.
